The Irving Theater is a former turn-of-the-century neighborhood movie house that has been closed for most of the past 30 years. The Irving Theater is being given new life as a multi-purpose entertainment venue.  The theater is a versatile space for movies, a wide variety of music and theatrical productions as well as receptions, ceremonies, lectures and other private and public events.  The theater is about 5,000 square feet of space including a Green Room, stage, restrooms and entry.  Capacity for most configurations is 600 theater seating or standing room and 400 banquet style seating.

Interested in a show at the Irving?  Most of our shows come to us through promoters or production companies.   You are welcome to submit your show idea.  Please include your contact information, a detailed, but not long, description of your show idea, samples (if applicable), and previous and upcoming shows.   Submittions may take up to two weeks to review.   Typically we book at least two months in advance.

We are in the process of putting together a sound and lights system.  We have a good start and are adding equipment with nearly each new show. For larger shows we suppliment our equipment or bring in complete sound and light systems appropirate for the show.

'Elvis' stage
Elvis in Indianapolis Poster Overall: 25'wide x 25' deep x 4' high with an entrance directly from the Green Room.   The front 16' x 24' portion of stage is made up of six (6) portable units.  This portion of the stage was once located in the now demolished Market Square Arena in downtown Indianapolis.  Elvis Presley made his last public performance on this stage on June 26, 1977.

To provide a smaller, more intimate environment, we create a stage area on the theater floor in a wide variety of sizes.   Seat is typically arranged in an arch or on three sides of the stage.
